It’s no secret that I love to read.  I read all the time.  On average, I read two books a week, mostly YA.  When I get a new book, it’s like Christmas Day and I feel like a kid waiting to dig into the unknown.  Most of the books I read are good, a few are bad (so disappointing) and some are exceptional.  When I read something that falls in the exceptional category, I love to tell people about it.

So what I am excited about now?  The Scorch Trials by James Dashner.  It is the sequel to The Maze Runner, also a fabulous book.  They take place in the future where the world is in ruin.  A group of teen boys struggle against strange and seemingly impossible odds to survive.  They are on some sort of mission that could save the human race, only they have no idea what they are supposed to do or how they got there.  These books will keep you guessing, trying to solve the mystery and figure out what is going on. Definitely not your typical you can predict everything plot lines.  The characters are also intriguing and fun.  And the sequel doesn’t spend half the book explaining what happened in the first one.  It literally picks up right where the first one left off.  They are fast paced and filled with action.  The only problem?  I have to wait for the conclusion of the series!!  Seriously, how long?  A year??  The suspense is killing me!!!  For more about this series, visit James Dashner’s website.

What am I reading now?  I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore.  So far, this one is captivating.  I’ll let you know once I’m finished.  Next up, The Pale Assassin by Patricia Elliott and Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi.  I am craving a series similar to The Hunger Games.  Only time will tell!
